New Eligibility Guidelines
MYAS (the governing body for youth sports) has made big changes to the eligibility guidelines this year. School attendance is now the primary factor when determining which association an athlete is eligible to play with.
Your athlete is eligible to play for HRBBA if they meet at least one of these requirements:
If your player does not meet the eligibility requirements above, please contact email@example.com to discuss the MYAS Player Transfer and Residency Exception process, as detailed on the MYAS website. Please begin this process now to receive MYAS approval in time for team selection.
*Exception: MYAS will allow players who attend the International Spanish Language Academy elementary school to play for HRBBA without filling out a waiver, regardless of home address.
New Documentation Requirements
During the registration process, you will be asked to upload documentation to comply with the new MYAS guidelines. Players must submit this paperwork before being able to practice or compete.
Players new to HRBBA must also submit a copy of their birth certificate during the registration process. Returning players do not need to submit a new copy.
4th Grade = $450
5th through 8th Grade = $575
Please note: Registration fees maintain the quality of our program and include player uniforms and all tournament registration fees (including state). Examples of additional costs include the rental of gym space for practices, referees and EMTs for our tournament, and appropriate insurance coverage. The program continues to fund over half the average cost for each player to play.
When you register, you may select to pay in full or you may select to utilize a payment plan. If you choose the payment plan option, 50% of the fee will be due immediately and 50% will be due on November 7, 2022. Players must be paid in full to compete in the first tournament.
The $200 volunteer deposit will be electronic this year (no checks!) When you pay your registration fee, your deposit will be automatically added as a future-dated credit card hold for March 1, 2023. Once the hours are fulfilled, the credit card hold will be canceled.
As a reminder, all families are required to work an average of 10-12 volunteer hours per player during our Hopkins Royal Rumble winter tournament Jan. 14-15, 2023
Players who qualify for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program through their schools may qualify for a discounted rate. Players must present proof of participation in the free and reduced lunch program to our registration director. To apply for this rate or for more information about our program, please contact us at Registration@hrbbabasketball.net. We will work with you to approve your request and give you a discount code to use when you register online.
Families that have 3 or more players signing up for HRBBA can contact Registration@hrbbabasketball.net to apply for a discount on the 3rd/4th/5th players signing up for that family.
