What: 2019-20 HRBBA Tryouts
When: September 21-22, 2019
Where: Hopkins High School, 2400 Lindbergh Dr, Minnetonka, MN 55305
Please arrive at the Registration Check-In time on both Saturday and Sunday to confirm all paperwork is completed and receive the player tryout number.
All players who what to play on a HRBBA Travel Team are required to attend both tryout sessions. Tryouts will take place over a two-day period of time in which players are participating in a variety of basketball drills and scrimmages.
Evaluations are conducted by a combination of coaches, board members, and evaluators with a deep understanding of basketball. Our goal is to be impartial, professional and as fair as possible by placing players based on skill level, ability, athleticism and attitude. Not all players will be selected for a team.
During evaluations we ask that you refrain from requesting information or soliciting opinions about players, or team assignments, from coaches and independent evaluators.

Required Parent Meeting
There will be a brief parent meeting on Saturday at the beginning of each tryout session. All parents are required to attend. Parents will be asked to sign a family code of conduct policy that explains the expectations of both players, and fans. Parents must agree to abide by the policy and its consequences related to behavior at all HRBBA attended activities. Players with parents not able to sign the policy and attend the parent meeting, without prior contact with HRBBA, will not be allowed to join teams.
Tryout Time Conflicts
We understand players may have a conflict during their tryout time. In order to select teams to the best of our ability, it is very important that players attend tryouts with their grades on both days.
In the event a player is unable to attend on one or both days, please contact Tony Corwin by emailing Coaching@hrbbabasketball.net by Friday, September 13.
Players who are injured and unable to participate in tryouts, but will be healthy for the season should contact Player Development by Friday, September 13. Injured players will be evaluated to the best of our ability. These players should register for tryouts and attend the parent meeting on the first day.
To better determine skill level at the younger grades, HRBBA conducts extended evaluations (in addition to our regular tryouts) for 4th grade players. Please see our 4th & 5th Grade Evaluation page for information and session dates and times.
